What To Do If You Have A Homeowners / Property Loss

Collision

  1. Stop vehicle and move to a safe position.
  2. Call for medical help if anyone is injured.
  3. If there are other drivers involved in the accident, you should exchange names, addresses, phone numbers and insurance information with them.
  4. Write down the date, time, and place of accident; name, address, and phone number of passengers and witnesses; license plate numbers of all vehicles involved.
  5. Report the accident to the police. Cooperate with the police, but do not make any statements about your liability.
  6. Report the claim to your insurance agent. We will review coverage and deductibles with you and report the claim to your insurance company.
  7. If your car is drivable you may get an estimate to repair the damage. Do not proceed with any repairs until authorized by an adjuster.

Windshield

  1. You can use the glass shop of your choice. Glass shops handle all of the paperwork and will bill your insurance company directly.
  2. Call the glass shop and provide them with your insurance information.
  3. They may need to do a three-way conference call with your insurance company to set up the claim.
  4. You will need to pay the glass shop your deductible once the work is completed. For a glass “repair”, your deductible should not apply.

Vandalism

  1. Report the damage to the police.
  2. Report the claim to your insurance agent. We will review coverage and deductibles with you and report the claim to your insurance company.
  3. If your car is drivable you may get an estimate to repair the damage. Do not proceed with any repairs until authorized by an adjuster.
